Supportive + Psychodynamic Ongoing Therapy [a little of this, a little of that]
Also known as more traditional ‘talk therapy,’ but with the knowledge, guidance and research of CBT, IFS, ACT, DBT and narrative work. We believe strongly in the healing power of having a space that is yours to process, to speak secrets, and let go of bottled up pain. We will not let sessions turn into endless venting, but use our clinical training to actively listen, strategize with you and help you better understand your thoughts, feelings and behavior, in ways that will improve your mood, relationships, self-esteem and coping skills.
Each of our clinicians is trauma-informed and strengths based, and will work with you at your pace toward healing and change.
Trauma Intensives
Accelerated Resolution Therapy
Also known as ART, this type of therapy is designed to help you feel significantly better in as little as one session. Similar to EMDR, it utilizes eye movements and recalling of memories to change the way you think about and feel when it comes to your most painful experiences - WITHOUT having to share/discuss the details, unless you choose to. You do NOT have to have a clear traumatic memory for it to work and provide relief. We can work with fuzzy, we can work together to identify where the pain is coming from… there is not much we can’t help you find healing from.
This method is very effective for birth trauma, assault, panic attacks, OCD, PTSD, and other diagnoses. We typically conduct these as intensive sessions, which can be done as a one-time treatment or as part of ongoing therapy.
Partner Support
Commonly used in planning for a new baby - or having an overdue conversation - we provide partner support sessions for my clients. This often includes providing tangible tools to work on together, addressing any of the partner’s worries or questions in preparing for labor/delivery and postpartum support, what to expect in terms of relationship change, and reviewing signs of postpartum mood and anxiety concerns.
Sometimes couples need a little support to get through an issue without the commitment of ongoing couples sessions. For these purposes, we will also facilitate a dialogue between you and your partner to address any other concerns and identify solutions.
